‘Today I marry my best friend’ – Kezani real weddings – Amy and Dean

10 Oct

I absolutely adore this wedding.

I took some time and really looked through all of Amy and Dean’s wedding photos…”Today I married my best friend”… as quoted by Amy on the beautiful handmade heart decor for their pew decor. I felt this and could really sense the love and friendship throughout this whole wedding.

There were lots of cute photos, and hard to share them all…but here are a few of my faves.

Stunning photography by Ben Clark Photography

Beautiful hair and make up by The Powder Room

Amy’s gorgeous gown was from a Melbourne bridal designer, Judith Valente. Strapless, corset style bodice in full French chantilly lace with a satin sash and vintage brooch detail. Bridesmaids were from House of Brides.

Amy wore a custom made necklace from Kezani. We combined our Larissa nacklace with the drops of Stephanie to create the perfect piece to complement Amy’s gown. We used Swarovski creamrose pearls with a silvershade crystal to help give this a more vintage colouring.

What else….but Chanel. Perfect parfum for your Wedding day.

The bouquet was a vintage delight by Mondo Floral designs and I love these quirky cases.

Amy co-ordinated and styled most of her ceremony and reception herself and did an amazing job.

The happy couple

The gorgeous little men

Now, Amy and Dean love and own horses…hence the cake topper!

This cute cake was by Ideas in Icing.

There were many little sentimental trinkets shared on this special day.

I am sure you could just feel the love in the room and the speeches must have been teary, as Amy’s favourite Wedding day moment was Dean’s speech…“It was soooo amazing !!”

The reception was held at Maleny Manor.

Before we finish up we also have some advice for future brides from our lovely Amy…

“I know it sounds cliche, but slow down on the day and take in everything, it goes waaay to fast. Also make sure you find a fantastic photographer and or videographer to capture everything that you may have missed, as there is so much going on the whole time. Be organized and don’t stress if little things don’t go as planned, it adds character and makes just “a wedding” into your wedding.”

We have come to the end of this dream wedding.

Thank you to Amy and Dean for sharing these beautiful photographs of their very Special Day.

We wish them well in all their new and fun adventures to come.

Love from Anita

Kezani Jewellery – from beach and beyond

5 Sep

We were so very excited to find our ‘Mila’  headpiece featured on the latest Cover of Queensland Wedding and Bride Magazine for 2012.

Summery, simple and romantic…the stunning sheer lace back wedding gown also featured on this Cover pic is from Luv Bridal and Formal in Slacks Creek.

In this stunning pic below our barefoot bride is wearing a gorgeous blush gown with Chantilly lace detailing on bodice and georgette overlay from Brides Desire by Wendy Sullivan. From Kezani, our new Emma earrings and bracelet in Swarovski creamrose pearls.

The first set of shots from this ‘Tropical Paradise’ shoot were taken at ‘An Island Hideaway’ on South Stradbroke Island with photography by Alison Beal Lifestyle Photography.

Hair and Make up by Brush and Blush, who did a fabulous job.

With most Kezani pieces there are many ways to wear one piece. Featured here is our Falling Stars brooch used as a headpiece…doesn’t it look amazing?!

Strapless crossover satin bodice with beaded blush belt and tiered skirt with lace detailing. This gown by Luv Bridal and Formal. Luv Bridal have three stores, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney.

Above we have a stunning gown from Strictly Bridal with fully beaded asymetricical bodice and teed up with our ever popular Jamelle headpiece. This piece has a handmade silk flower especially made for us from a Queensland designer, Fancy a Fascinator.

Strictly Bridal is our major stockist of Kezani Jewellery on the Gold Coast. See other stockists here.

The following pics are from the ‘Divine Decadence’ shoot also featured in the Queensland Wedding and Bride Magazine 2012…did you know that this magazine is only $6.95.

Gown by Luv Bridal and Formal and showcasing our new necklace, ‘Emma’.

Photography for ‘Divine Decadence by Andrea Thompson Photography.

The decadent venue is Laruche Bar and Supperclub.

Hair and make up by the one and only Donna Sullivan Hair and Make up. Donna and I have worked on many shoots together and I highly recommend her.

I love the simplicity of the gown above. This one shouldered gown with bow feature has a definite 50’s feel to it, created from the wonderful designer, Leonard Derecourt. The perfect complement to this gown was our Angelique earrings and bracelet.

Fully beaded bodice with delicate silver touches and fairytale tiered tulle skirt by Luv Bridal and Formal. Bride is wearing our gorgeous Swarovski Charlotte haircomb and earrings.

Gown by Wendy Makin Bridal Designs and featuring our Cover headpiece again, Mila. This pic shows you another way to position the lace.

Lastly, ruffled organza skirt by Luv Bridal and Formal with our L’Amour headpiece.

Thank you to all involved and especially Queensland Wedding and Bride Magazine.

VIVA LAS VEGAS – there’s a whole lot-ta shakin’ goin’ on – Real Wedding – Matt and Jess

3 Jul

What an exciting and fun wedding adventure I have to share with you….Viva Las Vegas!!!

Ever thought of running off to Vegas to get married???

Matt and Jess wanted just that…except they didn’t just run off as this was certainly a well planned event!

Jess chose a stunning Sophia Tolli gown from Sugar and Spice, Chermside, Queensland.

Her next stop was a visit to the Kezani store.  Jess’s bridesmaid, Kate was also getting married so we did get to have quite a bit of fun in the store finding the best pieces for their gowns.

We styled Jess’s gorgeous gown with our Natalia headpiece.

Matt and Jess chose the one and only ‘Viva Las Vegas’ Chapel for their ceremony which included a pink cadillac to take her down the aisle…how exciting!!!

Read all about Jess’s handy tips for organising a destination wedding at the end of this blog

The ceremony was held in the main chapel and I have incuded some details of all the fab packages you can have for an Elvis themed wedding. It certainly looks like FUN!!!

Elvis has certainly lost a lot of weight, ha, ha!

and they certainly pulled up a great crowd to join them in Vegas.

Now Vegas is about going all out and the Boys certainly did that with having a stretch F650 truck take them to the ceremony. It certainly looks like a mean machine and I think the Boys outfits were as cool as the car!!!

Where else but the……Bellagio

The Bridal Party, Matt, Jess, Ryan, Joel, Kate and Amanda.

Seal it with a kiss.

This cake looks so yummy!! It looks like a white chocolate coating, trimmed with beautiful sugar roses and glazed strawberries.

The reception was held at Planet Hollywood, Vegas.

A spectacular finish to a fun and unique wedding.

Thank you to Matt and Jess for sharing these beautiful photographs of their very Special Day.

We wish them well in all their new and fun adventures to come.

FOR BRIDES TO BE

Are you thinking of a Destination Wedding?

We have some helpful advice from Jess that may help you with your wedding plans.

Email is your best friend !! However don’t under estimate the value of making a phone call.
First thing to do is to plan in advance and send emails to several different suppliers telling them what you want. When you have picked a location for your wedding, ask them to send you a list of preferred vendors/suppliers. They will give you several options of different photographers, DJ’s, decorators, etc and these people come recommended from the hotel so i suggest using these people.
Make a folder and as each supplier is decided upon. Print out their information and the agreement and place this in the folder (TAKE THIS FOLDER WITH YOU !!!!).
Before you pay anyone, call them first and go over what you want as sometimes there can be misunderstandings through emails (international phone calls are relatively cheap these days and worth it).
Have all your planning done and organised before you go as you don’t want to be worrying about anything when you get there (but you do have your folder with all the contact details and you can give it to the wedding planner at your location to deal with).
Don’t forget “Enjoy the party !!! There is nothing that compares to a destination wedding.

Love and Unity – Kezani Real Weddings – Luke and Heidy

24 May

Wow, I am just starting to realise how wonderful it is see and hear all the fabulous little stories alongside new and old traditions that our brides bring in to their wedding day to make it ‘extra special’. I feel very privileged to be just a small part of what is such a momentous occasion.

Heidy and Luke have captured this beautifully with a dear tale from the past and some special moments for the future….this just had to be shared!

Photography by LM images

Heidy chose a stunning fantasy bridal ball gown in ivory with delicate crystal beading and fine silver detailing. Style ‘Allure 8769’ from Hills of Hollywood, Chermside.

Love these little trio shots…in the centre, Heidy’s Italian bridal shoes from Luca Stefani…gorgeous! Now for a heavenly scent…inspired by warm Moroccan nights (Morocco – definitely on my list of places to go, things to do) we have ‘Khantor’.

The Girls hair styled by Tomadon’s mobile hairdressing

Beautiful makeup by Faces by Hollie

Rose posies by The Lush Lily. Heidy chose roses in sugar pink, lemon and apricot with a small scatter of Jasmine keeping it all fresh and Summery.

The Boys looking fabulous in ‘Phoenix’ suits by Ferrari Formalwear

I adore this shot of Heidy, feminine and romantic. The veil falling soft and sheer and still showing Heidy’s custom-made bridal headpiece from Kezani Jewellery. Her headpiece was based on the baby ‘Sex and the City’ flower. Heidy knew she wanted a few of the flowers joined together wtih a little vine. I loved creating this and it just looked a dream on her.

An amazing setting and what a backdrop…the ceremony held at Glengariff Historic Estate, Queensland.

The Vows with celebrant, Leanne Sellin from Heaven Sent ceremonies.

“Luke’s favourite moment was the ceremony when we finally said “I do” and made it official!”

Now, I have never heard of this before…a Unity box. This part of the ceremony had Luke and Heidy put away for safe keeping a copy of their vows, love letters (that were written the night before the wedding), photo memories of their life to date and more, with two glasses and a bottle of wine. The engraved wooden unity box is then sealed and will not be opened till their Tenth Wedding Anniversary.

Just love these parasols!

Ooooh and looks like the Boys do too…ha,ha!

A magical shot in Dayboro Valley.Heidy and Lukes reception continued at Glengariff Historic Estate.

The wedding cake by Celebrity Cakes sounded devine. Fondant covered Marz (caramel and chocolate) marble mud cake…served with chantilly cream and berry coulis….mmmmmmm.

This was the tear jerker…inspired by her Grandfather, Heidy had royal blue fans on the table with ‘Love Quotes’ that she had handwritten in silver ink.

“Before my Grandfather went to do his complusory four year military service in Spain, he gave my Grandmother a wooden lattice fan with a vow of love written across the wooden slates. My Grandmother was 16.

Five years later, they were married…it was my favourite story.

They were both there for our wedding but little over a month later, Grandpa passed away. Grandma and Grandpa were together for 50 years.”

Rich dark woods bestow this Estate house and upstairs is my fave room of all (below). This magnificent room was the special lil place for the bridal party to relax with drinks and canapes before the reception downstairs.

“That was my favourite bit of the wedding. Everything else was a crazy rush but this was a little time out to spend with my hubby and enjoy each other’s company…revel in the fact, we just got married!”

A perfect way to finish such a beautiful wedding.

Thank you to Luke and Heidy for sharing these beautiful photographs of their very Special Day.

We wish them well in all their new and fun adventures to come.

FOR BRIDES TO BE

We have some helpful advice from Heidy that may help you with your wedding plans.

“Create a wedding day timeline and a list of your wedding supplier contacts along with any other valuable need-to-know information for your wedding day, e.g. copy of the seating plan, run sheet (who is doing what/picking up what on the day), list of people who are getting specific wedding flowers, etc. Select a responsible person (outside of your bridal party- they will be busy helping you and the groom) to be your wedding day contact person. Give them a copy of your need-to-know wedding info to brief him/her on your wedding day. If anyone, wedding guests or suppliers, have any questions on the day they can ask your wedding contact person instead of you as well as help the day stay on schedule. That way you are free to enjoy your wedding day with your hubby with minimal interruptions. Make sure to give your wedding contact person a special corsage so they stand out from the other wedding guests and give them a BIG thank you for their help after your wedding.
Thank you Heidy!

Sweet with Sentiment – Kezani Real Weddings – Adam and Johanna Fehlhaber

1 May

I had to share this beautiful wedding with you all – Adam and Joh’s wedding had a soft and romantic feel and I loved all the little personal touches and sentiment along the way.

Photography by Julie Collins Photography

When I first met Joh, it was a public holiday and she had come down to the Gold Coast to look at all our goodies. We did find things she loved but… “You need a gown” I said. Strictly Bridal were open, so I booked an appointment for her and away she went to find the perfect dress…and she did.

Beautiful, elegant, romantic…with stunning lace detailing, the perfect complement to a very special treasure…her Great Grandmother’s brooch (below).

This exquisite piece was added to Joh’s bouquet which I thought was a gorgeous idea.

Joh’s bridal bouquet and reception flowers were created by Florabella designs. A mixture of Latte and pastel roses with purple freesias.

The wedding headpiece we loved all along for Joh’s hair was the Jamelle.

The groom (below), Adam Fehlhaber looking very dapper. The Groom and Groomsmen suits were all from Formalwear express.

There is nothing better than sharing your special day with people who are close to you…make it fun and memorable.

Stunning  bridal hair and make up by The Powder Room.

Bridesmaid gowns by Mr K.

The exchanging of rings had a few special touches – the warming of the rings and another that holds great sentiment…

“Something very special and sentimental to us was our wedding bands. Both sets of parents gave us a small piece of gold jewellery that was very special to them, we also inherited a small piece from my Grandmother and Great Grandfather – we then had this melted down into our wedding bands.”

Adam and Joh’s wedding ceremony was held in the Rose Garden Courtyard, Hillstone, St Lucia Brisbane. A fitting place for these beautiful rose petal confetti cones, handmade from vintage music sheets.

I L O V E this idea.

Now I asked Joh, “what piece of advice she could offer our new brides?”

“I would definitely say throughout the course of the day/evening, stop, breathe, take in each moment as it happens.  Really soak it all in and truly appreciate everything that’s going on around you because the day goes so fast.  As much as your wedding is about the family and friends you are sharing this experience with, more importantly, it’s about you and your new Husband. Ensure you take time throughout the event to appreciate and celebrate together.”

Remember to have some fun…this was cute and quirky!!

Did someone say cute??? So was these Lollipop Bonbonnieres

Wedding Cake by ‘Deliberately Delicious’

Thank you to Adam and Joh for sharing these beautiful photographs of their very Special Day.

We wish them well in all their new and fun adventures to come.
